Mission Statement

Exploration of alternative culture: We at Label Us Black are drawn to peculiarity and

unconventionality. It is our desire to explore metaphoric roads-less-traveled and experience new

things outside the mainstream bubble. Anime culture, the culture of card magic and sleight of

hand tricks, exploration into Eastern religions or even examinations of BDSM culture, literally

anything the mind can grasp and is of interest is another exciting expedition for us. Whatever it

is, shout it out and we’ll follow suit; we’re cool like that.

Unity in individuality: It’s been observed as one of the greatest contradictions of our time:

being an individual with individualist beliefs and sharing it with like-minded people. Doesn’t

make any sense to share independence, right? WRONG because we do it and we do it with

style. As Lubbers-*ahem* us- we understand the significance of the individual and their right

to be independent; it is because of this we have developed unity among ourselves appreciating

and respecting the lifestyles of other members, hoping to ultimately learn more about one

another and help each other out. Think of each person as a separate nation brought together in

a conference, albeit on a more personable (and cooler) level. We want to hear all about you and

your story.

Fighting against racial stereotypes: How many times have you been criticized for “being

white” cause you liked something you somehow weren’t supposed to like? We Lubbers have

been through that too many times to count and, needless to say, that ish is obnoxious. We

Lubbers like what we like; we don’t see the point pursuing an interest in something we’re

supposed to be interested in, unless it’s a genuine interest. You like rap? Cool. You like the

NBA? No?! well that’s fine too; you don’t have to like/love it to be a friend of ours. We

are intent on reinforcing a positive image of our people and have pledged to fight ignorant

stereotypes with brandished individualism and good vibes.

Safe place for exploration: You will not be judged among our circle. Once more: you will

not be judged among our circle. Whatever it is you enjoy and have a passion for, we will

love...assuming, you know, it doesn’t have to do with killing babies or something. Jokes aside if

your interest falls on the “weirder” side of things as the white people say these days, don’t worry.

We will girdle you with our sincere protection; at our place, you will find a safe haven where

you can relax and experience new things without a hint of judgment (I can only mention that so

many times).

Building lasting relationships: If you’re open to us, we’ll be open to you. If you’re a bit shy,

that’s fine too cause we Lubbers are extraordinarily friendly people (kind of). One of the main

reasons why Label Us Black was formed was to build a place for people to meet up and hang

out. The freaks, geeks, losers, weirdos and psychos are all here like a close-knit family, so if

you’re a little weird (or just a naturally amiable person), pull up a seat and enjoy the show. You

may will form friendships that’ll last for many, many years.

What makes our organization stand out compared to others is our lack of continuity. With such a

diversified band of artists, we’ve basically done it all.
