We are Label Us Black; we are an organization that fights what is expected of us. As black people who refuse to follow the current of stereotype, we have banded together to embrace who we are as individuals because no single narrative can encapsulate an entire people. What some would call “racial treason”, “sedition”, “weirdo radicalism”, “self-hate” in regards to our assembly, we call “individuality”, “true expression” and above all, “freedom”. We are Label Us Black: we fight the expectations pressed upon us by the mainstream. We have verve and passion in our hearts for the idea of being ourselves: of truly being who we are without judgment. Forget the mainstream and what all the "cool" kids say. Start new. Be yourself.
